Part of the EMG / Gravity Media technology team at the new cutting edge broadcast facility in Westworks, White City. The Role

Part of the EMG / Gravity Media technology team at the new cutting edge broadcast facility in Westworks, White City. Working in a support team responsible for the BAU support and post technical workflows within the facility. You must have accountability and be able to work well within a team.

You will be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbal to technical colleagues and to non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

  • Requiring editing skills using Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer and an ability to provide first line operational support to Editors working on these platforms.
  • Demonstrating strong troubleshooting and communication skills to diagnose issues, escalate where appropriate and take responsibility for the full resolution.
  • Working with Avid Interplay and the associated suite of tools and assisting editors in their usage.
  • Preparing and deliver files for transmission, ensuring all metadata and compliance standards are met.
  • Adhering to preventative maintenance checks and procedures.
  • Adhering to handover guidelines.
  • Liaise with clients ensuring that all deliverables are realistic and understood.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Westworks facility.

Competencies

To enable you to perform this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following as a minimum:

  • Be able to communicate effectively with freelancers, ensuring they have clear information around job requirements and deliverables
  • Capable of collaboration and engaging with tasks with others in the edit support team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team, and to remain calm under pressure
  • A positive, enthusiastic manner with an ability to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from all stakeholders
  • Adept at being pro-active and able to identify potential issues before they occur
  • Knowledge and experience of media, editing and general computer systems
  • A clear understanding of the fundamentals of file-based editing workflows and various file transcoding, processing & delivery systems
