Based out of our Production Centre in Chiswick, our Studio Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day guarantee, maintenance and support of our small 4-camera studio and its ancillary facilities, including production gallery, vision and sound control, voiceover booth and green room.

• To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the television studio space at Gravity Media Chiswick.
• Acting as the main vision and system guarantee across all studio-based bookings and to provide support of all its broadcast technology.
• Planning ahead for all upcoming bookings ensuring the studio space, its associated systems and operational areas are prepared accordingly.
• To be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment/systems underpinning the studio and production areas, as required, in conjunction with the Senior Technology teams.
• To be responsible for the upkeep and presentation of all operational areas around the studio, including the production gallery, vision and sound control, voiceover booth and talent green room(s).
• To be available to work all weekends to cover our long-term client bookings.
• Subsequently, the working week for this role will typically be Wednesday/Thursday to Sunday inclusive, with Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday as rest days.
• However, flexibility will be required to be able to cover any additional ad-hoc bookings as required.
• Assisting the MCR and Media Operations staff with ad-hoc support and cover when required.

Contribute to the continual improvement of our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal obligations and maintain certification.

• Higher Education with a broadcast/technology related qualification is desired.

• Demonstrable and experienced knowledge of camera racking, camera channels, vision switchers, sound mixers and their associated technologies.
• An excellent knowledge and familiarity of the processes surround studio and production gallery-based work.
• Knowledge of video and audio formats used for Broadcast, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, ASI, AES, MADI etc.
• Knowledge of Broadcast monitoring systems and equipment.
• Competent on production talkback systems.
• A good understanding of structured cable systems, cable patching and proficiency using video and audio routing systems.
• Comfortable dealing with external clients, both face to face and via email. Major clients using the studio space on a regular basis are BBC, ITV, The FA and major other European football leagues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• An ability to work under pressure in a live environment and within programme requirements.
• Willing to work all weekends, including some evenings and occasional overnights as required.

• Experience within the broadcasting industry focused around studio guarantee work, on any scale.
