ROLE OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Workflow Engineer to join our team.

Based in Sydney, and working between our three offices in Artarmon, Disney Studios and our Mascot warehouse, our Senior Workflow Engineers are responsible for delivering networks of video recording servers, logging systems and edit suites to major production companies and broadcasters. This role is also responsible for engineering and operational duties onsite as well as maintenance and setup duties at base.

Reporting to our Director of Technology, the Senior Workflow Engineer is part of a team servicing and supporting clients in the film and TV post-production space, as well as clients delivering light entertainment and live sports broadcast TV.  The work is varied, and the scope for growth and learning within the team is vast.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and support our NLE platforms. Primarily EVS, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.
  • Design and build non-linear workflows, integrating Avid and EVS environments for fast turnaround broadcast workflows.
  • Supporting the IT and Networking systems of our post-production and production environments;
  • Monitoring and optimising the performance of media servers and storage systems, non-linear edit suites (Avid, Adobe, EVS), and file processing delivery facilities;
  • Providing first line and remote system support to address technical faults in a timely manner
  • Completing routine maintenance and regular system checks of the Company’s supported systems;
  • Evaluating new software and hardware;
  • Creating and documenting new media workflows and guidance for new users;
  • Advising and managing clients on technical workflows;
  • Assisting in the preparation of equipment and planning of projects to meet demands;
  • Ongoing maintenance and identification of faults with equipment;
  • Develop a close working relationship with all stakeholders, responding to all enquiries within a reasonable timeframe, ensuring strong lines of communication and fostering a reputation for professionalism and service for yourself and the Company;
  • Analyse current business practices, identify areas of improvement and liaise with all relevant stakeholders to develop and implement procedures to increase efficiency and profitability.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:        

  • EVS administration skills and integration of EVS with AVID and Adobe Premier
  • ACSR Qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with Interplay, ISIS and Nexis system administration

RELATIONSHIPS:    

  • Build strong partnerships with all key stakeholders including management and staff;
  • Build strong partnerships with all Supplier and Manufacturers relevant to the role.

Remuneration will be based on skills and experience.

This role is part of a significant team of experienced engineers and works in a collegiate and supportive environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to create rapport with clients are essential.

VISA Sponsorship will be considered for a strong candidate that is willing to move to Australia.
