Runner / Hospitality (Post Production Facilities)

Gravity House in Soho, London has the feel of an exclusive club and offers a very creative working environment. Immerse yourself in this high-energy, highly productive environment, working alongside teams creating the latest BAFTA-winning TV dramas, Hollywood blockbusters and more. The Hospitality Runner role provides a professional hospitality runner service to our clients using these facilities. This includes runner duties, kitchen, and reception coverage where required as well as assisting the technical team. This is an entry level role into post production and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to ensure the smooth running of Gravity House

Gravity House offers nearly 50 off-line cutting rooms and is mainly occupied by clients working on feature films and drama productions. Each room is kitted out according to the client’s individual needs with Mac or PC based workstations running the client’s preferred editing software, most commonly Avid Media Composer. Each of the 6 floors has a technical space and the basement houses a viewing room, a comms room as well as a kit storage and preparation area.

• Setting up and providing refreshments across all floors of the facility, ensuring all cutlery is tidy and replaced.
• Ensuring self service areas are well presented and tidied.
• Replenishing stock across all floors.
• Present a professional and friendly first point of contact for all clients during their time using the facility.
• To keep areas such as the bar, lounge, cutting rooms, and other areas presentable at all times.
• Covering the reception where required, and undertaking respective duties.
• To contribute towards developing an effective team and friendly environment.
• To undertake any additional duties as required.
• Prepare rooms in advance of client arrival.
• Preparation and delivery of any kitchen related requests to clients.
• Running errands internally and externally to the site (for example for stock runs).
• Business and administrative duties such as shredding and post.
• Additional cleaning as and when required between formal cleaning rota (ad hoc requirements such as spillages etc).
• Regular monitoring and auditing of building wellbeing, including notifications of issues to the facilities department as and when required.

Personal Bar License Holder

As the role will involve the selling of alcoholic beverages, the company will apply for a personal license for the post holder, and they will be required to understand and work in compliance with the prevailing ‘bar policy’.

Health & Safety

Adhering to our company Health & Safety policy and ensuring that all company risk assessments are observed where applicable to your role, taking ownership of improvements and escalating concerns where necessary. Contribute to the continual improvement of our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal obligations and maintain certification for health & safety and environmental management.

• Pre-emptive assessments and practical measures regarding the safety of all persons in the building.
• Upselling/cross selling of relevant hospitality and companywide products and services.
• Helping with social events on and off-site Runners must be willing and able to travel to other sites in and around London as required.
• For further breakdown of operational duties relating to the above, the operations manual relevant to the role will be issued to ensure all duties are clearly established and broken down.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in a similar hospitality role.
• Previous barista experience.
• Previous Studio/cutting room experience.
