About the role​
Job Title: RBC Production Supervisor / LeadÂ
A brief summary Â
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production activities for allocated shows, ensuring smooth communication across teams, and handling the logistics required to meet production deadlines. This role will report to the Service Delivery Manager on site.
This role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Production Manager, Service Delivery manager The Production Coordination team, freelancers, and external partners.
The position will also be key POC for Front row and MSO teams internally at the RBC as lead. A key focus is on asset acquisition, information flow, schedule coordination, and cost tracking to ensure successful project delivery within budget and time constraints.
What you’ll be responsible forÂ
- Regional Show Production Management (PM):
- Oversee the acquisition of all necessary assets and information required for allocated regional shows when show runs begin.
- Act as a point of contact for show-related queries during show days, ensuring that all production elements are efficiently coordinated, feeding back to the client Production manager where needed.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Review:
- Conduct regular reviews of production-related SOPs and present back to client Production Manager.
- Identify areas for improvement and update SOPs as needed to ensure best practices are followed across the team.
- Scheduling:
- Work closely with the client Production Manager and the Service Delivery Manager to create and manage the production schedule for Global and Regional events.
- Ensure that deadlines are clearly communicated and met by all departments involved in the production.
- Rota Scheduling:
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager & Production Coordination team to plan and execute team rota schedules within the EMG/Gravity Media team.
- Ensure the effective allocation of team resources, maintaining coverage across all projects and shifts, informing the client Production Manager of blockers or asks.
- Freelance Request Processes:
- Oversee the process for requesting freelance resources, ensuring smooth communication between production needs and freelance recruitment.
- Ensure that all freelance requests align with the production budget and scheduling constraints.
- Liaison with Gravity SDM (Service Delivery Manager):
- Serve as the primary liaison between the production team and the EMG/ Gravity Media SDM to facilitate any asks, ensuring that all requests are delivered promptly and in line with production requirements.
- End of Day (EOD) Reports:
- Manage and review EOD reports for allocated shows from each RBC department.
- Provide critical updates and escalate any production issues to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Meetings & Stakeholder Management:
- Attend and actively contribute to production meetings for assigned shows.
- Represent the production department in key discussions and decision-making processes, ensuring that all production aspects are accounted for.
- Cost Tracking:
- In conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager, track and monitor the costings for assigned shows, ensuring budget adherence.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure freelance resources and show-related expenditures are properly tracked and reconciled.
- Team Feedback:
- Actively contribute to the review process by providing feedback on team performance in collaboration with the EMG/Gravity Media Service Delivery Manager to the stakeholders.
- Supervising and managing part of the front row gallery staff on site.
This role is for you ifÂ
- 5+ years minimum of lead/senior production management or supervision experience within the media, entertainment, or visual effects industries.
- Experience in regional show management and freelance coordination management is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing complex production schedules and meeting tight deadlines.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships across teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
- Experience with cost tracking, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Ability to review and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Experience in Google suite software
- Leadership:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, ensuring high performance and motivation.
- Skilled in providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Problem-Solving:
- Proactive in identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
