Gravity Media is looking for a highly collaborative, organized, client focused Technical Services Manager (TSM). The position focuses on keeping clients satisfied with the company’s services through managing projects, fixing any reliability issues, tracking service metrics, managing budgets and leading the 12-person team of technical professionals responsible for delivering services to our client.

Expectations and responsibilities

Attention to detail, technology fluency and abundant flexibility are expected from the Technical Service Manager. The Technical Service Manager’s work will be prioritized and guided by maintaining a positive relationship with clients, staff management, managing budgets administration and leading a technical team. To be successful, the MPO must be organized, manage conflict and use creativity to find ways to promote efficiency. The candidate should have a deep understanding of television production operations in a broadcast studio environment, in a managerial role.

This is an on-site role, and the Technical Services Manager will be expected to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays. The position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain service level agreement.
  • Single point of contact for client management when dealing with personnel issues.
  • Focus on quality control of all content produced by the technical team.
  • Resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate setup of video, lighting, audio, and transmission equipment as required.
  • Work closely with EIC onsite to resolve, track and escalate technical broadcast and equipment issues and needs.
  • Provide detailed reporting and metrics around service performance and execution.
  • Track service trends to demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Track headcount requirements and provide client event load forecast involving staff costs.
  • Manage a team of technical professionals in a fast-paced environment, including scheduling, training, development and evaluating performance.
  • Maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Interact effectively with client to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed and assigned.

Preferred Qualifications and knowledge base

  • 5+ years of experience in a broadcast studio environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial role
  • Degree in an operations, communication or relevant field will be an advantage.
  • Fluency with broadcast technology
  • Project management proficiency
  • Knowledge of professional and college sports preferred.
  • Proficiency with IT and MS office Suite
