About the role:

EMG/Gravity Media Australia is looking for an experienced Maintenance and Support Engineer to join our busy team, based in our Mascot warehouse.

We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives working in dynamic and fast-paced environments, adapting to new technologies and requirements, can work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction and technical excellence.

What you’ll be responsible for:

The Maintenance and Support Engineer is responsible for assisting in current and new projects to ensure field facilities are delivered according to scope, maintaining focus on customer service and delivering to high quality standards.

You will liaise with all relevant stakeholders to provide assistance to OB, SNG and Event Communications field teams to support the maintenance and continual upgrade of the facilities from each area.

This role is also required to develop solutions to challenges and obstacles in relation to customer requirements to achieve desired results.

Duties and responsibilities: 

  •  Liaise with relevant stakeholders to provide maintenance to field facilities.
  • Work with key personnel to ensure maintenance schedules are created and delivered for field assets.
  • Assist in the build and system integration of green fields projects, completing the tasks on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with the Workshop Engineering team to assist in cable termination and repair and equipment testing as well as calculate stock levels for critical equipment, and when required, undertake ordering and processing for these items.
  • Provide assistance in executing projects for field teams, with the ability to provide on-site support when required.
  • Working on projects, ensure the right resources, and right departments are involved, keeping all parties up to date with excellent communication.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changes, developing solutions to overcome challenges and stay on track.
  • Draw on resources internally and work collaboratively with stakeholders and production teams to coordinate resources, ensuring a seamless execution.
  • Develop a close working relationship with all stakeholders, responding to all enquiries within a reasonable timeframe, ensuring strong lines of communication and fostering a reputation for professionalism and service for yourself and the Company.
  • Analyse current business practices, identify areas of improvement and liaise with all relevant stakeholders to develop and implement procedures to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Build strong partnerships with all key stakeholders including management and staff.
  • Build strong partnerships with all Supplier and Manufacturers relevant to the role.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the industry, the Company, your marketplace, and our competition.
  • Assist in the identification of areas where improvements can be achieved.
  • Participate in the ongoing training and development of yourself and the team.

This role is for you if you have:

  •  Previous experience (e.g., 3–5 years) in a similar role within broadcast.
  • Proven track record of maintaining and upgrading engineering facilities, preferably in an OB/Field or SNG setting.
  • Demonstrated involvement in engineering projects from conception to delivery.
  • Experience in creating and implementing technical solutions to meet unique customer demands
  • Keen attention to quality and detail in delivering high-standard technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with engineering teams, stakeholders, and clients.
