We’re delighted to be expanding our team and we’re looking for an eager and proactive Junior Broadcast and Post Production AV Technician this is a hands-on practical role in a diverse technical environment.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure and workflows, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security in our post-production and live broadcast workflows. We will offer specialised training for the right candidate with the right attitude to further develop their skills and career at Gravity Media.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Sydney, providing exposure to a diverse range of exciting local and international projects. Reporting to the Head of Workflow, you will be working with the latest broadcast and post production technologies and experience a wide range of challenges in all tiers of Sport broadcasting, light entertainment and feature film.
Main responsibilities include:
- Rigging and de-rigging sensitive equipment. This involves performing manual labour tasks as required;
- Providing first line and remote system support to address technical faults in a timely manner;
- Completing routine maintenance and regular system checks;
- Deploying server-based acquisition workflows, primarily using AVID and EVS equipment;
- Deploying streaming video solutions to support remote productions, client monitoring and remote edits;
- Preparation of equipment and the stages of a system build to meet demands;
- First line support for the IT and Networking systems of our post-production and production environments;
- Ongoing maintenance and identification of faults with equipment;
- Work in collaboration with the IT and Engineering departments to ensure cohesiveness and consistency in systems, operational practices and standards across the Company;
- Develop and maintain professional communication with clients and producers;
- Assist and provide support to other teams and projects as required. This includes but is not limited to setting up and assisting in outside broadcast and fixed production centre environments;
- Develop a close working relationship with all stakeholders, responding to all enquiries within a reasonable timeframe, ensuring strong lines of communication and fostering a reputation for professionalism and service for yourself and the Company; and
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and proactive team player who has:
- Basic IT and Networking skills;
- A willingness to learn;
- Proven problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- An interest in the latest software and hardware technologies available;
- Experience in media environments is desirable;
- Ability to form strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Have a valid driver’s license and access to a registered car.
