Role Overview

Reporting to Gravity Media Australia’s Head of Operations, you will be for operating VizRT in the control room, ensuring accurate creation and playout of all graphics requirements for live daily broadcasts and magazine programs. This role requires exceptional attention-to-detail, the ability to think ahead and work well under pressure. Working as part of the control room and studio team you will be able to troubleshoot and correct unforeseen technical issues during before and during live broadcasts.

This is a full-time role based in Melbourne supporting live horseracing broadcasts.

What You’ll Be Responsible for

  • Set up graphics systems at the start of each shift
  • Prepare GGI’s – load days’ meetings and assign bookmakers
  • Prepare and display on-air graphics as per production requirements
  • Create ad-hoc graphics as and when requested during live broadcast
  • Import, create, assign and check all sponsored assets and ensure complete and accurate delivery as per client’s commercial agreements
  • Prepare graphics for magazine panel programs
  • Load promos/inserts and ensure they meet all commercially agreed requirements
  • Check bookmakers’ markets are correct
  • Monitor systems during prep period and live broadcast and escalate any issues to software provider for investigation
  • Display and deliver all graphics promptly and accurately during the live broadcast
  • Monitor graphics system efficiency and play an active role in implementing improvements and upgrades.
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail, clear communication skills and aptitude for clear focus for the entirety of a daily live broadcast.
  • Implement instructions received from the Director and Producer to deliver the required live broadcast outcomes
  • Work according to rostered hours that will include day and night shifts and weekends

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a Graphics Operator role is preferred
  • Proven high level of attention to detail
  • Experience working in a live broadcast environment
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
  • Horseracing industry experience or knowledge is preferred
