1.755 million Australians across Seven and 7mate catch the start of Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race

Gravity Media is once again proud to have partnered with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and the Seven Network to deliver coverage of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

A peak national audience of 1.755 million* Australians tuned in to see 109 boats, including four 100-foot maxis, set off from Sydney Harbour for the 77th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart on Boxing Day.

Gravity Media worked in partnership with the Cruising Yacht Club and the Seven Network in the production of the telecast across Seven, 7mate and 7plus.

Gravity Media created and produced the complete telecast accessing remote broadcast production technology including on-board cameras on three of the four maxis Hamilton Island Wild Oats, Andoo Comanche (the eventual line honours winner) and Law Connect, along with on-water chase boat cameras and live helicopter camera coverage.

The start of the race delivered a total national peak television audience of 1.755 million* across Seven and 7mate on Boxing Day afternoon, with coverage on Seven peaking at 1.178 million during the lunch break on the first day of the Australia v South Africa cricket test.  The coverage also delivered a peak audience 577,000 on 7mate which simulcasted with Seven during the same time period for the race start.
